HomeCourtPath publishes planning guides about backyard court and green construction alongside our construction services. People commit five-figure budgets and dig up their yards based on what they read here, so we hold this content to a clear standard for sourcing, accuracy, and honesty. This page explains exactly how we work.

Our commitment in one sentence
We explain how courts and greens actually get built, source dimensional and standards claims to the bodies that publish them, label every cost as a typical range rather than a promise, and never invent a statistic, a study, a credential, or a review.
Where our information comes from
Court dimensions, construction practice, and materials standards are published by real governing and industry bodies, so those are our primary sources:
- Sport governing bodies for dimensions and equipment rules: USA Pickleball, the USTA and ITF for tennis, the NFHS and NBA rulebooks for basketball court dimensions, and the USGA for putting green construction guidance.
- The American Sports Builders Association (ASBA), the industry body whose construction guidelines shape how professional court builders plan bases, slopes, and surfaces.
- Materials authorities and manufacturers for how products actually behave: concrete practice from the American Concrete Institute's published guidance, and surface manufacturers' published specifications for cure times and application conditions.
- Local building departments for what actually governs your project: permits, setbacks, and zoning are municipal questions, and we consistently point you to yours.
Where an article states a specific fact that depends on an outside source, we link the source so you can read it yourself. If we cannot verify a claim against a source we trust, we do not publish it.
How we handle costs and facts that vary by region
Construction prices genuinely differ by region, season, site conditions, and market. Rather than print one number as if it were universal, we publish typical published ranges, say clearly that they are planning figures rather than quotes, and tell you to compare multiple written local quotes. The same goes for rules: permit thresholds, setbacks, and frost-depth requirements vary by municipality and climate, so we describe what is typical and point you to your local building department for the controlling answer.
Who writes and reviews our content
Articles are researched, written, and edited by the HomeCourtPath Editorial Team and carry that team byline with a published or updated date. We do not use invented expert names or credentials. Site-specific engineering, architectural, and geotechnical questions require appropriately qualified professionals.
How editorial relates to our construction services
HomeCourtPath builds courts and putting greens and charges for construction under a written project agreement. Our guides and tools help homeowners understand the work before committing. Published cost ranges remain general planning information, not quotes for a particular property, and our construction services do not change the standards we cite.
How we keep content current
Each article shows when it was published and, when applicable, when it was last updated. We revisit content on a rolling basis and when a source we rely on changes, such as a governing body updating a recommended dimension or a rule. A date on a page tells you when we last reviewed it, not that nothing has changed since; for anything that governs your build, check the current source and your local building department.
Corrections and feedback
If you spot something that looks out of date or wrong, tell us and we will check it against the source and fix it promptly. Email team@homecourtpath.com with the page URL and what you believe should change.
What we will never publish
- Invented statistics, studies, or citations to sources that do not say what we claim.
- Fabricated customer reviews, testimonials, ratings, or project counts. We are a new service; until real customers choose to share reviews, you will not see any here.
- Cost figures dressed up as quotes. Every dollar figure we publish is a typical planning range, labeled as such, and your site and market set the real number.
- Unsubstantiated promises about construction outcomes or timelines. Project commitments and any warranties belong in the written construction agreement.
- Permit advice presented as universal. Municipal rules control, and we always say so.
Independence
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of USA Pickleball, the USTA, the ITF, the NFHS, the NBA, the USGA, the ASBA, the American Concrete Institute, or any government agency. We cite their published standards because those standards are the honest reference points for this work.
